Preview lid angle

59°

Drag to see the effect at any angle. Preview on Desktop shows it full-screen while this window stays on top.

Perspective, variable blur and soft shadows respond to your lid.

It's the small thing you'll notice every day.

No accounts, no cloud, no telemetry. Bendover sits in the menu bar and waits for the hinge.

Physical

Follows your hand, not a timer.

The desktop moves with the actual lid angle, smoothed like a real hinge. Stop halfway and it stays halfway.

Private by design

Your screen never leaves your Mac.

Bendover redraws the display on the GPU. Nothing is recorded, saved or uploaded. The only network call is the license check.

Adjustable

Customizable.

Perspective, blur and shadow sliders, a working-angle setting so it never kicks in while you type, and a live preview so you can tune it without closing anything.

Questions

Does it slow my Mac down?

It only renders while the lid is moving; the rest of the time it's idle in the menu bar. Pause it any time from the menu.

Why isn't it on the Mac App Store?

The App Store sandbox doesn't allow reading the lid-angle sensor. Bendover is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized, so macOS opens it like any other app.

Does it work with an external display?

The effect plays on the built-in display only. External monitors are left alone.

Is it made by Apple?

No. Bendover is an independent app and is not affiliated with Apple. Apple, MacBook and iPhone are trademarks of Apple Inc.
